About Alex English
Alex English is a Hall of Fame NBA player known for his prolific scoring and smooth offensive game. Born in 1954 in South Carolina, he played college basketball at the University of South Carolina and was drafted 23rd overall in the 1976 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. After short stints with the Bucks and Pacers, he excelled with the Denver Nuggets from 1980 to 1990, leading the league in scoring in the 1982-83 season and becoming the first player to score 2,000 points in eight consecutive seasons.
An eight-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA Second Team selection, English is the Nuggets’ all-time leading scorer. Known for his mid-range jump shot and basketball IQ, he briefly played for the Dallas Mavericks and finished his career in Italy. With over 25,000 career points, English retired as one of the top scorers in NBA history and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997.
